ABOUT
Lirout is a Brazilian children’s clothing brand that embraces minimalist and modern design. Each piece blends comfort, care, and a clean aesthetic, perfect for any day, any time.
The brand was founded by a first-time mother whose journey into motherhood gave new meaning to her life. For years, she had searched for direction and purpose, and it was during her pregnancy that the answers finally came. When speaking with her, it becomes clear how profoundly her son, Theo, has transformed her perspective.
As a new mother, she struggled to find children’s clothing that was comfortable, stylish, and affordable, free from loud prints or cartoon characters. This challenge inspired her to create her own brand, built upon values that reflect her love for her child: accessible, high-quality garments crafted with comfort and care.
Lirout is more than a clothing label, it’s a celebration of motherhood, independence, and creativity. It proves that it’s possible to be both a devoted mother and an entrepreneur. At its heart, Theo remains the soul and inspiration of the brand, guiding its mission to make everyday life softer, simpler, and filled with love.

															CHALLENGE
As this is a Brazilian children’s clothing brand, one of the biggest challenges was creating the name which would bring the meaning of the company, without relation to female or mascule meaning, as she wanted it to envolve her son Theo in the name. The original idea was “ Little Theo “ , carrying the main goal, but it would be difficult for many Brazilians to pronounce naturally, to type it and also to memorize, that is why we decided to develop a new word: one that is easy to read, easy to pronunciate and still full of meaning
In Brazil “Little” often sounds like “Lirou” when spoken, so we embraced this natural pronunciation, By adding the letter T- representing Theo- we arrived at LIROUT : a name that keeps the heart of the original while making it uniquely our own.
As a Brazilian children’s clothing brand, one of the biggest challenges was creating a name that truly reflected the company’s essence — one that wasn’t tied to either a feminine or masculine meaning, yet still carried a connection to her son, Theo.
The original idea was, “Little Theo “ a name that beautifully captured the heart of the brand. However, it proved difficult for many Brazilians to pronounce naturally, to type, and to remember. For that reason, we decided to craft something new, a word that would be easy to read, easy to pronounce, and still full of meaning.
In Brazil, when people pronounce the English word “Little”, it often sounds like “Lirou” (pronounced Lee-roh), due to how English sounds are naturally adapted into Portuguese. Embracing this familiar pronunciation, and by adding the letter T — representing Theo — we arrived at LIROUT: a name that preserves the heart of the original while making it uniquely our own.
